The Shopping Cart company has recently implemented a new security feature in which you need to change your password for your account every 30 days.
This is good and bad.
It’s good because it gives you added security on your account.
It’s bad because you now need to tell your team of people working in your account (i.e. your assistant, your webmaster, your bookkeeper, etc) of the new password each time you change it.
So here’s a simple solution:
Come up with a password ‘root’ and a password ‘prefix’ (or ‘postfix’), where the ‘root’ is unique, and the ‘prefix’ (or ‘postfix’) is based on the current month and year.
For example, your root could be ‘starwars’ and your prefix (or postfix) could be ‘feb07’ or ‘0207’
With this method your password would be:
‘feb07starwars’
or
‘starwars0207’
So, tell your team the root password and the naming convention for your prefix (or postfix).
This way all your team will always know what the password is.
And if an employee leaves your company, all you have to do is change your password ‘root’.
It’s that easy!
