Using Wordpress to Build Your Website

Posted by: Christina Hills | Comments Comments Off

I found this great article on using Wordpress as a content managment system.

This is EXACTLY what I've been preaching, and my philosophy that the old fashioned websites that use dreamweaver and frontpage are being phazed out, and new sites that use Wordpress are the way to go!

This is because it's easier to manage a website with wordpress.

This will also give you ideas of things you can do with wordpress

I just got back from the System Seminar in Chicago where I presented my new Virtual Webinar Workshop.

I have a few slots left, and I want to open it up to club members first before sending an announcement to my whole list.

The workshop is going to take people through building a Wordpress website and hooking up the autoresponders, product
sales, free teleseminars, etc to it.

We will be using Aweber and 1ShoppingCart(MarketersChoice) for the autoresponders, and Wordpress.org for the website creation.

The workshop will be 6 ninety minute webinars, plus 2 follow up webinars one month after the course.

Plus, you will get a Wordpress blog from me to use as your 'playground' testing blog.

The dates for the webinars are June 9, 16, 23,24,25, and 31st
at 1pm Eastern.

The follow up webinars will be one in July and one in August.

The cost is $697 for the whole course (big savings over the
$997 normal price, and my consulting rate of $300 an hour)

Plus it will include my 'Shopping Cart Secrets' course as a bonus!

This class is so new, that I do not have a sales letter page for it.

I only have a few slots left, so if you are interested then
go here to get registered

See you in the workshop!

p.s. I will be closing registrations this week, so if you are interested then register now.

Social Media in Plain English

Posted by: Christina Hills | Comments (1)

I found this great video which gives a simple overview of the concept of social media. Social media is the big buz word these days, but for some people they don't get exactly what 'social media' means. Social media is Web 2.0, and it's a way of communicating with your audience.

This short video compares social media to making your own ice cream.

It's short and fun.

Here is a question from John:

Question: "If you want to give out a free MP3 (audio) as an incentive to opt in to your list, how do you send them a free download button to place where your file is uploaded on shoppingcart's system without having to direct them to a order form where they have to fill out more than just their name and email address."

Answer: If you want to give a free digital product, either an audio or a pdf, etc. You can use the shopping cart's digital download feature (you must be on the pro package).

However, if you do, then you would be sending the person to an order form. If you make it a $0 priced product, then this order form would NOT ask for credit card info. See this page for an example: http://www.ShoppingCartQueen.com/hookup

If you do NOT want to send the person to that kind of page, then you would need to upload the digital file on your server, and then create a page on your website or blog that takes them to that page.

Go to www.OperaDepot.com for an example of a website giving a digital download with just an opt in asking for name and email.
